Temptations

What is Temptation?

In the Bible, temptation is a test or trial designed to give the devil/enemy the opportunity to convince you to do evil and sin against God.

Temptation is pressure applied to your way of thinking. The sin that we usually struggle with. These sin's are mind battle's but God doesn't want use to be in a constant fight and battle with our own flesh the bible says in

1.Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh
When you have a mind set that does not line up with God's word you are walking in the Flesh... and our fleshly sinful ways are not of God. The bible says that Jesus said in Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.We must deny ourselves and die to our fleshly sinful ways everyday. Everyday is a new day to take up your cross and get things right! Yet that is no excuse to sin just because everyday is a new day.

2. Romans 12:2 :Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Do not be like like the world but live as Christ would live. The bible says in Proverb's 23:7 For as a man thinks in his heart so is he. We are to renew our minds constantly by staying in God's word and meditating on it night and day. Keeping in constant communication with Christ by praying through out the day. Test and Trails will come to help you see what is good in God's eye's, what is not, and to help you grow. Sometimes we fail the test, but always remember to look back at what the point of the test was so you can grow from it. God want's to mold you into who you were truly created to be. The bible say in 2 Corinthians 5:17 :if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. When we come to Christ and get saved we become new Creature's we start to put away our old actions, we become new and start growing to become more of who Christ has created us to be.

 3. 1 Corinthians 10:13 that "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

In this bible scripture it says that there is no temptation that any person has not been through. So even though it seems that you are going through a problem or there is a temptation to sin that you are fighting you may feel that you are the only one going through or dealing with this temptation/problem. The good news is that you are not, there are many people who deal with some of the same test and trails that you are going through. They may not be exactly the same but similar. Another thing that this verse says is that we are tested on what we can bear. God will never put you through something he doesn't think you can't handle. With that being said, there will always be a way to escape your temptation. Another door that you can choose to not fall into sin.
