Submission

What is Submission?

To submit is to humble yourself unto authority. Example's: Submitting to God, Wives Submit to Husband, Youth submit to Elders.

1) James 4:7-10  Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.  Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

2)Ephesians 5:22-24 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
3) 1 Peter 5:5
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for  “ God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.

When you submit you humble yourself you are showing humility. So often we as people have so much pride that we don't humble ourselves. Pride can be a bad thing, many people will go to hell because they refuse to humble themselves. We live in a society that teaches you to be about being full of pride kids disrespecting their elders, woman not knowing how to submit to their husband's, and people not submitting to God. Everyone wants to be in control of something or someone. I read once that "everyone wants to be the boss and nobody wants to be the worker".  It's hard to love God if you are doing your own thing trying to take the lead. God say's to us in
Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD."
If its not his ways your submitting to then who are you submitting to? Even Jesus Humbled himself

Philippians 2:3-8 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.  Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,  who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.  And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
